Located in the new East Jakarta Industrial Park, PT. Toshiba Consumer Products Indonesia (TJP) started production just 3 years ago in June 1996 and has already become Indonesia's largest colour television assembly plant (produces 1 million units annually).
A unique feature of this plant is the 5 U-shaped final assembly lines. These lines allow simultaneous assembly of various models and enable TJP to save energy should production run at less than full capacity; savings which are duly passed on to the consumer. In February 1999, TJP received ISO 14001 certification for environment responsibility and aim to achieve ISO 9002 by March 2000, further testament to Toshiba's commitment to quality.
